The BNQ compliance gauge
The editor header shows a circular gauge with a percentage inside. This is the BNQ compliance gauge: a real-time indicator of your report’s compliance with the BNQ 3009-500 standard.

What it measures
The gauge calculates, in percentage, your inspection’s compliant completeness: covered sections, filled subsections, present descriptions, attached photos, placed signatures, and other standard requirements. The closer the percentage to 100, the closer your report is to delivery without BNQ shortfalls.
A red dot next to the gauge signals the number of errors or omissions detected at the current moment.
Enable the gauge
The gauge is not active by default. To enable it:
- Open Settings (from your profile at the bottom left).
- Go to Report Template.
- Navigate to
/settings/report-template/defaults. - At the bottom of the page, enable the BNQ gauge option.
Activation applies to all your future inspections. For inspections already created, the template snapshot does not change, but the gauge remains accessible post-activation from the editor header.
How to use it day to day
The gauge serves two moments:
- During the inspection — a regular glance lets you see if you have missed a critical area. If the percentage stalls while you are progressing, click the gauge to see the detail of missing points.
- Before finalization — before clicking Finalize and close in the 3-dot menu, check that the gauge is at a level you are happy with. At 100%, you are fully compliant. At 95–99%, check the last items and decide knowingly.
Click on the gauge

A click on the gauge opens a detail of the non-compliance points detected: incomplete sections, unfilled required fields, subsections without narrative or description. Each line takes you directly to the relevant place when clicked.
This is the most efficient tool to finalize a report while avoiding oversights.
Why aim for 100%
Reaching 100% BNQ compliance does not guarantee a perfect report in terms of professional judgment — your expertise remains irreplaceable. But it does guarantee that you have not forgotten a section or element required by the standard, which strongly reduces the risk of post-delivery claims or challenges to your work.
Depending on your plan, BNQ compliance analysis can be standard (Starter plan) or advanced (Unlimited plan). Advanced analysis includes finer checks and phrasing suggestions. See Subscription.
