Invoice PDF contents
The invoice sent to your client is a PDF document generated dynamically by Lumos from inspection data, your profile, and your configuration. This page details each section of the PDF so that you know exactly what is being transmitted.
Header
The header has three zones:
- Left — your logo (uploaded in My Profile > Business).
- Center — the word INVOICE in large typography.
- Right — your business identity block: name (for example “SupaDupa Inspection”), full address, phone number, and professional email.
”Bill to” block
Below the header, Lumos displays the client information:
- BILL TO — client’s full name and email.
- INVOICE # — invoice number, which uses the inspection number (for example
INS-20260407-007-2). - CONTRACT # — number of the parent project (for example
20260407-007). - DATE — invoice issue date.
This continuity (invoice # = inspection #, contract # = project #) makes reconciliation between your documents and accounting easier.
Items table
The central table lists the billed services:
| Description | Quantity | Unit price | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-purchase inspection report | 1 | $600.00 | $600.00 |
Multiple items may appear if you added lines in Step 1 (optional thermographic inspection, travel fees, etc.).
Tax calculation
Below the table, Lumos automatically applies taxes based on your business address in your profile:
- Subtotal — sum of line totals.
- GST (5%) in Quebec.
- QST (9.975%) in Quebec.
- TOTAL — final sum taxes included.
Outside Quebec, the applied taxes depend on your province (single HST in Ontario, for example). Lumos automatically adjusts the nomenclature and percentages.
Notes and payment instructions
Below the total, Lumos may display two optional blocks fed by your configuration:
- Default notes — free text you define in Business Configuration > Quote & Invoice (for example “Thank you for your trust”).
- Payment instructions — clear instructions on how to pay (for example “Please send payments to SupaDupa Inspection Inc. or via Interac to payment@supadupa.com”).
These two texts are pre-filled for each invoice but can be customized case by case before sending.
Footer
The footer carries the tax identifiers of your business, essential for Quebec compliance and for the invoice’s tax-deductibility for your client:
- GST: GST registration number.
- QST: QST registration number.
- NEQ: Quebec business number.
These numbers are entered once in My Profile > Business and appear automatically on all your invoices.
