The client’s secure link
Each project has one live link per client email. You manage it from the Portal link button of the Document Center’s bar, which opens the Client’s secure link dialog, or from the sheet of any document of the project (same section).
How it works
- The link carries a long random token (impossible to guess). It gives read access to the file; signing or uploading a document will additionally require retyping the email.
- It expires 90 days after the last send: every send from the Center (signature, invoice, request, reminder) pushes the deadline.
- The portal displays in the link’s language, initialized from the project language and editable in the section.
- One link per email address: the project’s co-client has their own, shown under yours in the Portal link window (copy, send, regenerate, revoke independently).
The actions
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Send / Resend the link | Emails the client with the “Open my client portal” button. Creates the link if it does not exist. |
| Create and copy the link | With no link yet: creates it without any email and copies it, to pass it on yourself (text message, in person). |
| Copy the link | Copies the existing portal address. |
| Regenerate | The old link stops working immediately; a new one is created. Use it if a link was shared by mistake. |
| Revoke | The client can no longer open their file until you send a new link. |
The section also shows the expiry date, the number of opens and the last open.
Traceability
Creation, sending, regeneration, revocation and opens of the link are logged in the activity feed.
