Who Lumos is for
Lumos is built for building inspectors in Quebec. It is a tool designed specifically for your profession, not a generic inspection software adapted at the last minute.
Our primary audience
Lumos is for:
- Professional building inspectors, whether they work independently, in a firm, or in a team.
- Inspectors in training (AEC in building inspection, Collège CEI programs, other certification paths) who want to adopt a modern platform from the start of their career.
- Inspection team managers, who supervise multiple inspectors and need a centralized view of their team’s output and quality.
Lumos is native to the BNQ 3009-500 standard: report structure, mandatory sections, severity classification, and compliance audit follow the Quebec standard without any setup on your part.
Who is not our audience
Lumos Inspector is not an application for clients (the individuals who commission an inspection). For them, we offer a separate product, Lumos Clarity, which helps analyze a received inspection report and understand its financial and technical implications.
Lumos Inspector is also not aimed at inspectors outside Quebec in its current version. The Quebec standards (BNQ 3009-500, RBQ regulation, regulatory terminology) are at the heart of the product. A version adapted to the rest of Canada and the United States is on the roadmap, but it is not what you are reading today.
What technical knowledge is required
None. Lumos is built for inspectors, not IT specialists. If you can use a phone and a browser, you can use Lumos.
This documentation is written from the beginner level, assuming you arrive without any prior knowledge of the platform. More advanced features are flagged as such; you can come back to them when you are ready.
